Capuchin Monkey Guarantee
All capuchin monkeys for sale are examined for health by the veterinarian of the seller at the age of four weeks. Prior to shipment, the buyer is responsible for paying the seller in full for the total cost of the Capuchin monkey and any applicable shipping expenses, whether the shipment is via air or ground.
In order to ensure the welfare of both the new owner and the vendor, the buyer stipulates that the monkey must undergo an examination by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of its receipt, at the new owner’s expense. The guarantee is void unless a copy of this examination is emailed or mailed to the merchant within one week of the monkey’s arrival. In the event that a major health concern is detected during the 72-hour examination of this monkey and it cannot be treated medically, the purchaser will be offered a replacement monkey, a full refund, or a replacement monkey. The seller will adjudicate on this matter. In order to receive a full refund of payment in lieu of a replacement, the purchaser must deliver the live monkey to the seller within 72 hours of the examination, at their own expense. The purchaser must present a verified document from the veterinarian outlining the problem. The return of registration documents provided at the time of sale is required. Prior to issuing a replacement or refund, the seller reserves the right to demand that the returned monkey undergo a second veterinary examination. All veterinary expenses are non-refundable and are the responsibility of the new owner.
The seller does not provide a warranty against conditions that arise from uncontrollable environmental changes or stress after the monkey has left our establishment. After one month, the seller shall not be liable for parvo and distemper viruses, which are extremely contagious and can be contracted immediately upon departing the premises. Additionally, vendors do not provide guarantees against parasites, viral or bacterial infections (including monkey flu), hypoglycemia, or coccidiosis.
In addition to the registration documents, every monkey is also accompanied by documentation pertaining to his initial vaccination regimen, deworming, and comprehensive health examination conducted by a licensed veterinarian.
For the most part, our understanding and expertise indicate that your monkey will be in good health when it returns home. However, we cannot guarantee the monkey’s future health once it has departed from our care.
The genetic health of our primates is guaranteed for the initial two years. The term “genetic health” refers to a condition or abnormality of the genome that ultimately results in premature death with a life expectancy of less than five years, necessitating either euthanasia or costly, extensive medical treatment that would ultimately exceed the financial means of the monkey. Should a congenital defect be detected in your Capuchin monkey during its first two years of life, we will reimburse the full purchase price or exchange it for a monkey from a comparable litter.
